Life Tips

I've been collecting some life tips for ya:

1. When you go to the store, hook your purse into the baby safety belt. That way nobody can just walk off with it. And how much fun would it be to watch somebody try to grab it and run and turn the whole cart over..
2. When you paint, put the brush/roller into the freezer at the end of the day and take it out about an hour before you start painting again. No washing brushes every day! They thaw out and are ready to go again!
3. When you're hungry and you got no food, if you can round up bread, butter, sugar, and cinnamon you have a meal. Put the oven on broil, butter one side of the toast and let it get a little brown. Meanwhile, mix up some cinnamon and sugar until it's a light brown. Then turn the bread over, butter again, and cover all over with the sugary goodness. Let that get brown and boom, cinnamon toast.
4. When you slice apples, submerge them in pineapple juice for a couple of minutes and they'll stay fresh for days.
5. When you're upset about something, write a letter to someone you trust. Write down everything you're feeling, then tear it up. You'll feel so much better.

I'll probably add some more soon. Hope these tips were useful!

Is it true they don't wear shoes here?

So, after weeks of worry, I'm finally employed. The Blue Grass Trust has decided to give me a go at a full time position so it looks like I'll be hanging around Lexington indefinitely. I like this city, so I'm glad to stay, and I'm very excited about my new job. Look out heartless developers! Stand guard bulldozer drivers! Anyway, I was looking forward to going home and seeing my family and everybody. It's hard being way out here by myself, especially now that Amanda is leaving (tomorrow!!) But a girl's gotta make her way in the world, right? I never would have guessed "my way" would pass through Kentucky. Well, raise a bourbon brew to the Wildcats and here goes nothin'....

Lobster Fondue

So today my office took Amanda to lunch for her Birthday/Voluntarily getting as far away from Kentucky as possible Celebration. We went to our favorite Chinese place and I have a few quandaries. See, I like to eat cows and pigs and chickens. I find them to be delicious. Why, when you could have such deliciousness, would one choose to eat raw fish. Not only that, but raw fish wrapped in seaweed which, by the way, even the ocean pukes up. And I also didn't understand the crab meat and cream cheese deep fried pouch. Why not try some lobster dipped in chocolate? Mmmm. Goooood.

I do enjoy those fortune cookies though. But if they were really fortunate, they would be filled with folded up money rather than generic observations. Just a suggestion.
